Are Array® lamps ENERGY STAR qualified?
To date, Nexxus Lighting has received ENERGY STAR qualifications for its Array MR16, R16, GU10, PAR38 and R30 LED lamps. The approved models are listed on the ENEGRY STAR Qualified LED Light Bulbs list which is available for download here: www.energystar.gov/ledbulbs. Nexxus Lighting continues to submit additional lamps to ENERGY STAR as part of an ongoing process to bring industry leading, high performance LED replacement lamps to market.
ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, which helps businesses and individuals save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. To ensure performance and reliability, all ENERGY STAR qualified LED lamps are required to undergo rigorous third party testing by an approved independent laboratory.
Are IES and photometric testing files available?
IES files are available on our website for our product offerings. Photometric testing for our lamps was completed by Independent Testing Laboratories located in Boulder, Colorado. In order to comply with the guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Energy for the ENERGY STAR Integral LED Lamps program, some of our models have also been tested by Intertek Group in Cortland, NY.
Testing includes IESNA LM-79-08, which not only verifies CCT, CRI, Lumen Output, and Power Factor, but also includes Candela Distribution, Zonal Lumen Summaries, Cone of Light Diagrams, and Isofootcandle Lines of Horizontal Illumination.
How long has Nexxus Lighting been making LED products?
Nexxus Lighting has a strong pedigree and knowledge base with LED lighting. We have been manufacturing and selling LED lighting products since the year 2000. Originally Nexxus Lighting was called Supervision International, who specialized in Fiber Optic and LED architectural Lighting since 1991. In 2007, Supervision became Nexxus Lighting and continued the company strategy of connecting advanced technologies with lighting. Today, Nexxus Lighting’s is focused solely on the growth opportunities represented by its Array® and Lumificient businesses.
Have the products been tested in accordance to IESNA LM-79 and LM-80?
All Array® LED Lamps have been tested to IESNA LM-79 standards, as well as IESNA LM-80 from our LED manufacturers. Nexxus Lighting is also a Lighting Facts partner, a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy to assure and improve the quality of LED lighting products.
Are Array® lamps UL Listed?
The Array® R30, PAR38, GU10, and R16 lamps are all UL Listed and our Array® MR16 and MR16-HO lamps are UL Recognized. Our certifications can be found on the UL Online Certifications Directory at http://bit.ly/92BP6p by searching by our UL file number, E327983.
What is the Power Factor of the Array® LED lamp line?
Array® Lamps have one of the highest power factors in the industry of .92. Energy Star requires for only .70, and our lamps far surpass that criterion. Our engineers have focused on making the circuitry as efficient as possible.
Do low voltage Array® LED MR16 lamps work on Electronic Transformers?
MR16 3.3W
Like all low power LED MR16 lamps, the Array® MR16 3.3W is not compatible with some electronic transformers due to its low power consumption. In most cases electronic transformers require a minimum load greater than 5 watts in order to function properly; this is prevalent with fixtures that utilize an integral transformer for each fixture. Typical problems that exist would be flickering, strobing, low output, or no output. It is up to the customer to verify that the Array® MR16 lamps will work on an existing or new electronic transformer and Nexxus Lighting is not responsible for any incompatibility issues.
MR16-HO
Array® offers MR16-HO lamps in both magnetic and electronic models. The magnetic lamps should be used with a magnetic transformer and the electronic lamps should be used with an electronic transformer.
A list of compatible transformers for the Array® line can be found at: http://www.arraylighting.com/dimmers/#transformers
Where are Array® LED lamps manufactured?
Nexxus Lighting’s headquarters and research and development center is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Array® LED lamps utilize components from the USA, Japan, Mexico, and China. Final assembly occurs at our manufacturing facilities in Tijuana, Mexico (R30, R16, MR16, GU10, PAR38), Maple Grove, MN (G4) and Shanghai, China (MR16-HO). Our manufacturing process is 95% automated, and includes no screws, soldering, or human interaction with the main manufacturing processes. Once the lamps are completed they ship to our warehouse in Orlando, FL for distribution worldwide.
Are Array® LED lamps really dimmable?
Yes Array® lamps are dimmable. Most commercial/residential dimming systems need about 30-40 watts of electrical load for proper firing of the dimmer’s triac. Since our lamps are low in wattage if this minimum load isn’t presented to the dimmer the lamps may not turn on, step dim, or flicker. Please refer to the minimum load requirements on your dimmers specifications. It is up to the customer to verify that the Array® lamps will work an existing diming system and Nexxus Lighting is not responsible for incompatibility issues. A list of compatible dimmers for the Array line can be found at www.arraylighting.com/dimmers.
Can you install Array® LED lamps outdoors?
Array®lamps are rated for indoor locations. Our MR16 & MR16-HO lamps are rated for indoor and damp locations.
Can you install Array® LED lamps in IC rated fixtures?
Array® lamps can be installed in IC rated fixtures. Unlike other LED lamps, Array® LED lamps utilize patented SHS Technology™ which allows for ambient air to effectively cool our LED’s.
What is the Warranty and Return Policy on Array® Lamps?
Array® lamps are warranted for 3 years, and if a problem occurs an RGA form must be filled out and product shipped back to us. We will pay for the shipping costs to send the new product back to you. What are Quantum Dots?
In 2010 Nexxus Lighting released an Array® R30 Flood Lamp fitted with a Quantum Light Optic ™ (QLO). Nexxus and QD Vision have partnered to co-develop the QLO product which utilizes emerging Quantum Dot technology. The QLO is a nano-crystal Quantum Dot coating that is applied to a glass optic which converts a 5000K CCT to a 2700K CCT and also raises the CRI to 90+. Traditionally, there are tradeoffs between luminous efficacy, CRI and warm white light; however this new lamp from Nexxus Lighting and QD Vision will maintain a 70 Lumen/Watt efficiency while providing a warm 2700K light with a 90+ CRI. For more information on QD Vision please visit, www.qdvision.com.
Is the Array® lamp a Nexxus designed product or a private label lamp?
Every feature of the Array® LED lamp line has been meticulously designed by Nexxus Lighting’s R&D Department. From the manufacturing process, dimming process, heat sink technology, recyclable plastic housings, to the .92 power factor circuitry, the Array® lamp is 100% Nexxus product.
